And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.St. John 6:35 (KJV) |

TravelDear Sisters, I have to tell you that my trip to Israel which I took the end of February was so meaningful! I had read the Bible all my life, but when I got there and went to those places the Bible talked about, I understood so much better how things and events happened. I have to say that, in my opinion, at least all preachers, if not all Christians, should make one trip to the Holy Land in their lifetime! I was picked up at the airport by our guide, Hannah, who was a Messianic Jew. She was so knowledgeable, and I started taking notes as we left the airport! She escorted our group through Tel Aviv to Ceasarea through the region of Dan and the head waters of the Jordan River. We stayed two nights on the Sea of Galilee which was absolutely beautiful! We visited the Mount of Beatitudes, saw Mt. Hermon, the Golan Heights, and we stayed at a swanky resort on the Dead Sea. As we topped over the hill and came into Jerusalem, tears came into my eyes. To actually see Jerusalem, the Holy City of God, meant so much to me. We visited the Wailing Wall, and I laid my hand on it and prayed to the God of Heaven. Hannah took us to Gethsemane, through the gates of the Old City, into the Upper Room, down the ancient streets, to the Temple Mount, and to Calvary outside the city walls. We took a side trip to Bethlehem where Jesus was born. It was in the West Bank area and we had a Palestinian guide. My last day, I went out to Hadassah Hospital Complex, the largest hospital in Israel. They had the Chagall Windows displayed which was a real treat for me. Back in Jerusalem, I was later introduced to an Armenian lady who specialised in designing tiles and had showcased her work in Paris and Spain. Then, I took one last trip into the Old City and got to chat with a merchant there who offered tea and coffee. All in all, it was such a wonderful and memorable trip. I'm so glad I got to go! Well, I'm already praying about where to go next. Maybe some of you will go with me. Let me know! Sis. Connie |
